Epstein Becker Green and EBG Advisors hosted the sixth webinar in a series focusing on emerging trends in population health. The session provided a dynamic overview of the way traditional programs such as utilization management, disease management, wellness and case management are being re-defined and implemented within a “population health” framework.
The webinar, scheduled for March 25, 2014, at 12:00 p.m. ET, was led by Frederic S. Goldstein, interim executive director and chair of the board, Population Health Alliance. The Population Health Alliance is known for its innovative efforts to track population health trends and educate on ways to improve clinical and financial outcomes.
“Population health management strategies are evolving at a rapid pace in today’s healthcare marketplace,” Mr. Goldstein said. “We believe a health care system that systematically, and through innovation, applies the principles of population health improvement leads to measurably better health outcomes for individuals and populations.”
During this webinar, Mr. Goldstein:
- Provided a short history of the term “population health”
- Highlighted the population health framework and delivery system used by the Population Health Alliance
- Detailed some of the key activities that support population health programs
- Assessed how to best achieve meaningful clinical and financial outcomes

Frederic S. Goldstein
Mr. Goldstein is the founder and president of Accountable Health, LLC and interim executive director and chair of the board for Population Health Alliance. He has more than 25 years of senior management experience in the health care industry encompassing disease management and wellness, HMO, hospital and physician group operations, strategic planning, mHealth, marketing, product development, network development and government affairs.
Mr. Lutes, member, Epstein Becker Green and EBG Advisors, Inc., has practiced with the firm for 26 years and offers strategic counsel on health policy and reimbursement strategy. He will moderate the session.
