Health Plan Alliance: MACRA – How the New Medicare Quality Payment Program May Impact Health Plans

Robert F. Atlas, President of EBG Advisors, Inc.,presented “MACRA Deep-Dive for Payer and Provider Executives” at the Health Plan Alliance Spring Leadership and Board of Directors’ Meeting, which ran from April 5 to 7.

The session provided an overview of the two alternative routes under Medicare’s Quality Payment Program (QPP): Alternative Payment Models and the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System. This presentation included an examination of the impact of the QPP on Medicare physician payments, the implications for health systems that employ clinicians subject to the QPP, how health plans can support clinician success in the QPP and potential changes under the new administration.
