Washington, D.C. (November 21, 2013) Epstein Becker & Green, P.C., and EBG Advisors, Inc., are pleased to announce that Babette Edgar, Pharm.D., MBA, and Edgar Consulting Group have joined EBG Advisors as affiliates.

Through this strategic alliance, Dr. Edgar and her group will provide Epstein Becker Green’s clients with CMS audit; mock audit; corrective action plan support and operational guidance and implementation related to Medicare Advantage and Part D Plans; pharmacy benefits management compliance and operational support; and pharmaceutical manufacturer marketing and reimbursement support.

“We are thrilled to be associated with Babette and the Edgar Consulting Group,” said Mark Lutes, Chairman Elect of Epstein Becker Green. “The depth and breadth of Babette’s experience in Medicare and managed care on the operational side will help to strengthen our capabilities in providing clients with a deep understanding of CMS compliance expectations and the numerous payment, reimbursement, and delivery reform changes contained in the ACA. We look forward to working with her in partnership on future projects.”

This strategic alliance reunites Dr. Edgar with three former high ranking CMS executives who recently joined EBG – Larry Kocot, Mark Hamelburg, and Thomas Hutchinson – in a combination that will provide EBG’s clients with full service legal, operational, compliance, and strategic counseling across a wide range of Medicare and Medicaid issue areas.

Dr. Edgar has held senior executive positions at several leading pharmacy benefit management companies and with a nationally known disease management company.  At CMS, Dr. Edgar advised on translating the Medicare Modernization Act and regulations into operational policy and implemented Part D regulations in the areas of formulary, benefit design, marketing, licensure, and solvency.   She holds a doctorate degree in Pharmacy as well as a master’s degree in Business Administration.

“We are looking forward to working collaboratively with EBG, and we are excited about the broad menu of services this synergistic combination will allow us to offer together.   We are especially pleased to be part of this growing and well-respected team of former CMS experts,” said Babette Edgar, President of Edgar Consulting Group.
